CASE For America Statement On U.S. Trade Deal With United Kingdom

WASHINGTON — The Coalition for an Affordable and Secure Economy (CASE) for America, a voice for the everyday American consumer and advocate for pro-growth economic policies, issued the following statement following the announcement of a trade agreement between the United States and the United Kingdom.

“While this trade agreement may provide some relief, the clock is ticking for American businesses and consumers and there is still much more work to be done to protect families from higher costs this year,” said CASE For America Spokesperson Amanda Maddox. “The fact remains that there is still a baseline 10% tariff in place for goods coming from the U.K., which has increased prices on everything from food to apparel to electronics. American families are still struggling to afford the everyday items they need, and time is running out for businesses that can no longer afford the uncertainty brought on by the looming threat of tariffs. American families and businesses are pleading for solutions that will bring prices down and end this economic uncertainty.”
