Bipartisan Senators Vote to Block International Emergency Economic Powers Act
WASHINGTON — The Coalition for an Affordable and Secure Economy (CASE) for America, a voice for the everyday American consumer and advocate for pro-growth economic policies, issued the following statement on the U.S. Senate’s resolution blocking the use of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA).
“Today’s bipartisan Senate vote sends a strong message that Canada is a vital ally and trade partner, and U.S. economic stability must remain a priority,” said CASE For America Spokesperson Amanda Maddox. “Tariffs that create economic uncertainty and risk raising costs for American families are not the way to make America stronger or safer. The House should now follow suit and similarly act to pass this legislation.”
